Challenge
SnapLogic initially joined Strategic Blue on our Accelerate model, which allowed for tailored cloud vendor commitments, ranging from 3 to 36 months, at a more favorable price than they could achieve directly from the cloud vendor. This solution worked very well for the first couple of years of the relationship. However, as SnapLogic’s growth continued, they needed to spend less time thinking about their cloud FinOps journey, and more time thinking about their core business objectives.
SnapLogic wanted to rely on our team to make cost optimization decisions on their behalf so they could spend more time on growing their business. They also needed a solution that meant that they could easily track and understand their spending. This led us to migrate Snaplogic onto our Automate product, which ticked all the boxes for SnapLogic, delivering hands-off savings in an automated way.
Results
The first month that SnapLogic moved onto our Automate model delivered fantastic results. SnapLogic increased their monthly savings significantly, which will result in a total saving of ~$1,200,000 per annum. This drastic increase in automated savings was brilliant, and the reduction of time and effort to implement these savings was given back to the SnapLogic team. This enables them to continue their growth and success in the application integration market.

Solution
The solution was clear. Traveltek needed an AWS reseller that understands how to optimize AWS costs using a careful blend of reserved instances and savings plans. Working closely together, Strategic Blue ensured that Traveltek’s technical changes were fully compatible with existing reserved instances and saving plans in order to maintain business agility whilst preventing commitment wastage and overspend.
Strategic Blue also tailored Traveltek’s dashboard to their exact reporting requirements, helping to identify key cloud consumption trends and accurately forecast AWS costs. Having access to this data has empowered Traveltek to promote a cost-focussed mentality within the organisation. Plans to further develop and tailor Traveltek’s dashboard include more tagging visuals to help the team dig deeper into AWS cost and usage data.
Regular monthly meetings are in place to make sure we are on top of everything cloud costs related, whether that’s exploring additional savings, cost reporting requirements or other cost-focussed initiatives.
