Dr James Mitchell

CEO & Founder

“Dr James” founded Strategic Blue in 2010 long before the term “FinOps” was coined. He loves talking to customers about how they can free up budget within their existing cloud deployments and use it to make the world a better place.

Aleda Kay

Chief Operating Officer

Aleda joined Strategic Blue in 2010 and defined new roles across sales, finance and operations as we grew as a startup. As our COO, she now drives operational excellence initiatives within the organization to streamline our processes.

Andy Watson

Chief Product Officer

Andy joined Strategic Blue in 2019 to head up our product development. He often joins calls with large or complex customers to dive-deep on their FinOps challenges.

Dr Jon Smith

Chief Commercial Officer

“Dr Jon” heads up our finance, legal and pricing & portfolio teams. He oversees the myriad of Savings Plans & Reserved Instances that Strategic Blue buys each day to optimize coverage & discount rates for all Strategic Blue’s customers.

Frank Contrepois

Chief Innovation Officer

Frank focuses on innovation, joining Strategic Blue in 2017. He is an AWS Ambassador. He co-hosts the FinOps Guys podcast. He also trains customers and AWS teams on the benefits of expert rate optimization in FinOps.

Paul Wilson

Chief Technical Officer

Paul joined Strategic Blue as our original developer in 2011. He is the person our own experts seek out when they want to really dive deep on the unpublished details of how AWS implements discounts within its Cost and Usage Reports.
