Strategic Blue secures Series A Funding

Strategic Blue are excited to announce its Series A funding round, from the former Executive Vice-Chairman of Barclays Bank.

Strategic Blue, a London-based fintech company has concluded its Series A fundraise. The capital infusion will enable the company to accelerate its plans to support a broader set of cloud service providers (CSPs) and strengthen its balance sheet to support customer financing.

The investment was made by Fox Investments Ltd, the family office of Iain Abrahams. About the investment, Mr Abrahams commented, “Strategic Blue occupies a unique position in the cloud value chain, and the growth potential in this space makes this an exciting standout investment.”

Mr Abrahams will actively work alongside Dr James Mitchell, CEO of Strategic Blue, to adapt Strategic Blue’s offering for new verticals as they embrace public cloud and to further develop partnerships with major cloud intermediaries, such as Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Resellers of Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

Dr James Mitchell, founder and CEO of Strategic Blue said: “Our financial and technical capabilities make reselling cloud services much more efficient, while reducing costs for enterprise cloud buyers. With our focus on the resale of cloud service, Strategic Blue is dedicated to widening margins and driving revenues for cloud resellers, while keeping sales standardised for the major CSPs. Iain’s expertise will allow us to more readily take our unique capabilities to the most important companies in the UK and US.”

About Iain Abrahams

Originally a partner at Ernst & Young, then at Slaughter & May, Mr Abrahams made his name in the Structured Capital Markets business, before becoming Treasurer and finally Executive Vice Chairman of Barclays Bank. Since 2012, Mr Abrahams has run his own family office, based in London. He will be joining Strategic Blue as Chairman.
