Strategic Blue are delighted to announce the appointment of Susan Swart, former CIO of the International Monetary Fund and prior to that the U.S. Department of State, as the newest member of our Advisory Board.
“We are thrilled to have Susan join the Advisory Board at Strategic Blue. Her expertise as a Public Sector CIO will be invaluable in directing our innovations in public sector cloud procurement best practice.” said James Mitchell, CEO Strategic Blue.
Susan brings a broad depth of experience to Strategic Blue having acted as the CIO of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to Susan’s work at the IMF, she was the CIO of the U.S. Department of state where she led the delivery of IT services to 280 Embassies, Consulates, and offices in 185 countries. In this role, she also served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State and the Under Secretary of State for Management on IT.
Susan has 26 years of experience in the information management and technology field encompassing responsibility for knowledge management, IT customer service, IT infrastructure, corporate systems support, and applied information management training. Her career also included stints managing budget, human resources, and general services, as well as assignments in Egypt, Venezuela, and Peru.
“I am truly honoured to be part of the advisory board at Strategic Blue. The commercial cloud is becoming increasingly relevant to Public Sector institutions, who are attempting to follow a Cloud First policy, whilst complying with procurement policies. The intellectual rigour that Strategic Blue bring to unblocking cloud procurement and optimising cloud costs, is head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the cloud industry. I am pleased to advise and support such a growing and flourishing company as Strategic Blue.”
Susan joins the advisory board in an independent role, alongside investor-advisors including former senior executives from several major investment banks, hedge funds and IT systems integrators, all forward-thinking, highly experienced professionals in the fields of finance, cloud, and IT infrastructure.
